Jonathan is a chartered surveyor and specialist in rights of light and the associated planning issue of daylight and Sunlight. With over 20 years’ experience on major, complex developments nationwide, he regularly acts at appeal and as an expert witness. Formerly a Director in Savills’ Neighbourly Matters team, he brings extensive expertise to eb7.
John Barnes
Director - Daylight & Sunlight EIA
A founding director of eb7, John has many years of experience in daylight & sunlight, light pollution, and solar glare for EIA. He has provided consultancy and managed the delivery of the daylight and sunlight assessments on several high profile schemes. In addition, John is an experienced expert witness in his field.
Ian Thody
Director - Rights of Light
Ian has over 20 years of experience as a rights of light and daylight & sunlight consultant and has represented his clients at committee meetings, appeal hearings, and public enquiry. As a result, he provides industry-leading advice to Architects, Planners and Developers.
Paul Quaife
Director - Immersive
Paul leads eb7 immersive our visualisation studio. He has been mapping, capturing, and animating the built environment since 2004. eb7 immersive specialise in planning and marketing imagery.
Bruce Gawen
Director - Party Wall
Bruce has helped to establish the party wall department at eb7 and has been lead director since 2015. Bruce’s work covers the full spectrum of development but with a focus on city centre environments across the UK and takes great pride in finding resolution to complex and multifaceted Party Wall disputes to enable building works.
Thomas Crundwell
Surveyor
Thomas joined as an Assistant Surveyor in September 2023, having completed a MSc in Real Estate from Reading University . Now a surveyor Working on both Daylight, Sunlight and Rights of Light. Thomas has provided consultancy on a wide range of schemes with a focus on assisting EIA projects in particular.
Eliot Kerr
Associate Director
Eliot is an Associate Director and has worked on a wide variety of projects over 8 years at eb7. He is also currently in the process of gaining RICS accreditation. Eliot is involved in a range of projects, including large scale residential development and regeneration schemes and Rights to Light projects.
Jamie Parkes
Associate Surveyor
Jamie is an Surveyor who joined eb7 in August 2021, having completed his MSc in Real Estate. Jamie has worked on a wide variety of projects, from small to large-scale developments, providing specialist advice regarding both rights of light and the associated planning issue of daylight and sunlight.
Harry Gregory
Associate Director
Harry has a Law degree and a masters degree in Real Estate Development; with over 10 years of experience advising both residential and commercial clients. expert in both building surveying and neighbourly matters with specialist knowledge in Party Wall, Daylight & Sunlight and Rights of Light.
Daniel Sumner
Associate Director
Daniel is an Associate Director within the practice and has worked on a wide variety of projects over the past 15 years. Daniel holds an MSc in Building Surveying and qualifications in Computer Aided Design. Daniel has significant experience within the field from both a technical and surveying perspective.
Matthew Adams
Senior Surveyor
Matt is a surveyor working on daylight, sunlight and rights of light. Matt has a MSc in Building Surveying. Matthew is involved in a range of projects including residential developments of varying scales, larger regeneration schemes and rights of light negotiations.
Bilaal Ali
Associate Surveyor
Bilaal is a surveyor with over 7 years of specialist experience advising in respect of daylight and sunlight and rights of light. Bilaal holds a BSc in Building Surveying and has a wide range of technical and surveying knowledge.

Hayley is an Associate Surveyor in the eb7 party wall department with over 6 years of experience in her profession. Hayley is the lead contact on a range of projects, supporting clients pragmatically through party wall disputes and neighbourly matters from enquiry to completion.
Allan Ssesanga
Senior Surveyor (eb7 Party Wall)
Allan is a Senior Surveyor specialising in the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 with significant experience acting for both building owners and developers and adjoining owners, in providing key strategic advice on the Act and neighbourly matters on commercial and residential projects. Allan is a member of the Pyramus & Thisbe Society and the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors.

With a background in architecture and hands-on experience in both design and construction, Moji combines technical rigour with creative insight to produce compelling planning visuals that support ambitious, large-scale projects.

Lead Project Visualiser (eb7 Immersive)
Tony is a passionate 3D visualiser with 20 years professional experience and a CV of proven deliverables covering a wide variety of sectors within AEC, including planning visuals, build sequence animations, marketing imagery and film. Tony is involved in every aspect of the project process from creation, delivering and managing through inception to completion.
